Client
The institute is a research and policy body, and a client of the AI growth (China) line, delivered as a GEO advisory engagement.
The problem
A think tank’s core asset is being cited. Citation used to happen in media and reports; now there is a new venue — someone asking an assistant which institutions research industrial transformation in Shanghai. If the model cannot answer with your name, you do not exist at that entry point.
What we did
The same sequence: define the question set and measure a baseline; work on the consistency of the institution’s entity information and the quotability of its research output; re-test the same set.
Limits of this case
- The 90% / 70% figures apply only to Yuanbao on 14 June 2026 and a fixed set of ten questions. Other assistants require separate measurement.
- A later 10 August two-platform platform-question rate was 80% mention (16/20) and 70% first recommendation (14/20), showing that the result moves over time.
- Research institutions start from an advantage — they publish a lot of original material. Brands without a content base should not expect the same starting point.
