Corporate AI training: what to teach, what it costs, and a buying checklist

Pick corporate AI training by job task, then price it by headcount, hours, custom materials and follow-up support. Includes an intake checklist and acceptance tests.

What corporate AI training should teach depends on what the participants have to get done next week; what it costs depends on how much preparation and coaching that work needs. Tool demos, hands-on job practice and project-delivery training have different goals, so comparing them by hours alone doesn’t work.

Choose the course by job task

Team needPractice focusDeliverable you can check
Marketing, brand and contentCustomer questions, brand facts, rewriting and retestingA question set, a content draft and a fact-check record
Business and support functionsSpelling out repeated tasks clearly; turning them into fixed operating rulesA task brief, a rules file and a real run log
AI project leadsSetting scope and acceptance, controlling launch and handoverA task agreement, evaluation records and a handover checklist

Course recommendations should rest on the role, the tools available and the material you can use. One generic syllabus won’t necessarily serve marketing writing, finance data prep and development delivery at once. Marketing teams can go straight to in-house AI marketing training; other roles can start from enterprise AI training and job practice.

What two past courses tell you

On August 29, 2026, Moments ran a practical session for a high-skilled talent program in Shanghai’s Pudong district. It started from a pre-course questionnaire and, around participants’ repetitive work, practiced a “four-box” way of assigning tasks to AI, turning rules into fixed instructions, and testing small tool interfaces and inputs. The homework was to run one real piece of work and adjust the rules based on the errors. It shows how a job-focused course can be organized; it doesn’t mean every participant became more efficient.

On July 25, 2026, the Shanghai FDE (forward-deployed engineering) public workshop focused on what an AI project needs to move from demo to delivery: evidence, a runbook and clear takeover responsibility. It used synthetic teaching cases and doesn’t present classroom exercises as real client results.

Past courses show existing teaching directions. The instructor, length, format and detailed syllabus of the next session are confirmed after a needs discussion.

How corporate AI training costs break down

A budget should separate at least pre-course research, custom materials, on-site teaching and post-course coaching. Headcount affects grouping and coaching; anonymizing client material, preparing tool accounts and reviewing every assignment individually should also be written into scope.

When requesting a quote, confirm who pays for travel and venue, whether model or software accounts are extra, how slides and recordings may be used, and how many Q&A sessions are included and for how long. Moments quotes on the confirmed course scope rather than on unverified industry averages.

A one-page needs sheet is enough to start

The Chinese version of this page links an online training-plan form and a blank template; an English team can cover the same ground with these points. Putting syllabus, retest samples and what the fee includes on one page lets every vendor respond to the same scope.

  • Participating departments, roles, headcount and existing AI experience.
  • One high-frequency task: its inputs, current steps and expected output.
  • Anonymized material usable in class, and any data that can’t leave the company environment.
  • Available devices, network, model accounts and install permissions.
  • The assignment you want to keep, and who owns follow-up after the course.

Turn the course need into a task sheet you can get quotes on

Below is a template you can fill in directly. The example describes how to design a job-focused course, not a delivered client result.

FieldWhat to fill in
Role and taskWho does what repetitive work, and how often
Practice inputsOne normal document and one with missing information, both anonymized
Course outputsA reusable task brief, operating rules and one completed assignment
Tool conditionsAccounts, devices, network and the data use the company permits
ReviewerWho checks facts and judges whether the assignment can be used at work
After the courseWho follows up, when to retest, and which coaching the fee covers

For example, “summarize meeting notes” should go on to specify output fields, how facts are checked and what to do with missing information. Have participants redo it with a second document to see whether the rules carry over — don’t accept only the instructor’s live demo. Compare budgets on the same task and coaching scope, confirming customization, teaching, assignment review and travel separately.

Accept on whether the assignment is reusable

Before comparing prices, align headcount, format, material customization and support period. Ask every quote to mark items as “included”, “extra”, “provided by the company” or “to be confirmed”, then check travel, accounts, venue and taxes. Don’t treat a public course’s per-person fee as the total for a custom in-house program, and while items remain unconfirmed, don’t treat vendors’ numbers as same-scope totals.

Keep the original input, participants’ operating notes, the output and a record of human edits. Run it again on a normal document, one with missing information and one that’s out of scope, and check whether it completes, asks a follow-up or stops. Satisfaction ratings measure the classroom experience; they can’t be converted directly into productivity or cost savings.

Bring this needs sheet and contact Moments to decide whether custom in-house training, the public AI marketing bootcamp, or first a small business-scenario diagnosis fits best.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare a public workshop's per-person fee with a custom in-house quote?

No. Align headcount, format, material customization and support period first, and have each quote mark items as included, extra, provided by the company or to be confirmed. A public course's per-person price is not the total for a custom program.

How do you know the training worked?

Check whether the assignment can be reused: re-run it on a normal input, an input with missing information and an out-of-scope input, and see whether it completes, asks a follow-up or stops. Satisfaction scores measure the classroom experience, not productivity or cost savings.
